Google Drive File Downloader
Paste a Google Drive link and download files with no download option — view-only PDFs, protected documents, photos, videos, ZIP archives and more. Free, no sign-in, nothing stored.
Google refused? Two backup methods
“Direct from Google” opens Google’s own download endpoint in a new tab and uses your Google session — it works whenever you can open the file while signed in. The capture method rebuilds the file from the preview and works on view-only PDFs and images.
- Open the file’s preview page in a new tab.
- Scroll to the bottom so every page has loaded.
- Press F12 → Console, paste the script below, press Enter. The PDF saves automatically.
For Google Docs, Sheets or Slides with downloading disabled: open the document and use your browser’s print → “Save as PDF” (Ctrl+P / ⌘P) — printing works on view-only documents too.
How to download a view-only file from Google Drive
- Copy the link. Open the file in Google Drive and copy its link from the address bar, or use Share → Copy link.
- Paste it above. The downloader reads the file ID and fetches the original file straight from Google.
- Save the file. Your download starts in the original format. For Google Docs, Sheets and Slides you can pick PDF, DOCX, XLSX or PPTX first.
Supported file types
Works with any file stored on Google Drive — including view-only and “download disabled” files that are shared by link:
PDF · DOCX · XLSX · PPTX · JPG · PNG · GIF · ZIP · RAR · MP4 · MOV · MP3 · TXT · CSV · and any other file type
Native Google files are exported in the format you choose: Google Docs to PDF or Word, Google Sheets to Excel or CSV, Google Slides to PowerPoint or PDF.
Why some Drive files have no download button
When an owner shares a file as “Viewer” and turns downloading off, Google Drive hides the download option. This tool requests the file the same way the Drive preview does, so most link-shared view-only files can still be saved. If Google refuses the server-side request, the page falls back to two methods that use your browser instead of our server: Direct from Google downloads through your own signed-in session, and the PDF capture method rebuilds the file from its preview pages. A file that is fully private (not shared via link at all) cannot be fetched by any tool — ask the owner for access.
Frequently asked questions
How do I download a view-only PDF from Google Drive?
Copy the PDF’s share link, paste it in the box above and press Download. The original file is fetched from Google and saved straight to your device — no extension, no software, no sign-in.
How do I download Google Docs, Sheets or Slides with downloading disabled?
Paste the docs.google.com link of the file. Google files are not stored as normal files, so the downloader exports them in the format you pick — PDF, Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX) or PowerPoint (PPTX).
Why does it say “You need access”?
The file is not shared with everyone. Open the link in an incognito window: if you cannot view it there, only the owner can grant access. If you can view it while signed in but the download still fails, use the backup methods shown with each result — Direct from Google (your own session) or the PDF capture method.
How do I download a file when the owner disabled downloading?
Three ways, in order: press the normal Download button first; if Google refuses, click Direct from Google, which opens Google’s download endpoint in a new tab using your own Google session; for view-only PDFs use the PDF capture method — open the preview, scroll to the last page, then run the small console script shown on the page and the PDF is rebuilt and saved automatically.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Files that trigger Google’s “can’t scan for viruses” warning are handled automatically. Very popular files can hit the daily Google download quota — you will see a clear error and can try again later.
Do you store the files or my links?
No. Files are streamed from Google to your browser and never saved on our servers. We do not require sign-in and we do not track what you download.
Is this Google Drive downloader free?
Yes — completely free, with no account needed. It works in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS.
